Daghda
'He was a beautiful God of the heathens, for the Tuatha Dé Danann worshipped him - for he was an earth-God to them because of the greatness of his magical power.'
Daghda was a mystical, supernatural being with magical powers, and his strength derived from his knowledge of the hidden, which in folklore was the highest kind of wisdom.
Also the name of Ireland’s longest-running dance company. I had done some work with Yoshiko Chuma, a New York City choreographer, who had done a series of projects taking dance out of sterile studios and into the real world She had a residency with Daghda in Limerick, so we took to the streets and photographed the dancers at locations around the city.
